Help with psychosomatic symptoms

Support with pain and psychosomatic problems

You may be experiencing physical discomfort for which doctors cannot find a medical explanation. Often, the thought is that psychological factors trigger the symptoms. In such a case, we refer to them as psychosomatic. This includes chronic pain, fatigue, muscle tension, or digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Even without a medical cause, you will still experience discomfort. This can be severe, long-lasting, and greatly affect your daily life. It is believed that they are the result of a combination of stress, emotional tension, unresolved trauma, and an imbalanced nervous system.

Fortunately, there is a way to cope with this. A holistic approach—where both body and mind are treated together—can help reduce your symptoms. We work with a combination of therapies that suit you. Therapy Program

The therapy program consists of a combination of psychological and physical methods. We will explore what works best for you. Typically, the program requires six to twelve sessions.

Psychological care

For psychological care I work with the following therapies:

  • Counseling
If your symptoms are triggered by unresolved emotions I can use emotion-focused therapy (EFT) or EMDR. If we find that negative thought patterns are hindering you, I also work with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
  • Hypnotherapy
In this therapy, you will learn self-hypnosis techniques to practice regularly at home, which help reduce muscle tension and achieve deep mental relaxation. With specific, goal-oriented hypnotic suggestions, you will learn to positively influence physiological processes in your body.

Physical Care

In addition to psychological care, physical treatment may also be very helpful. I work with two methods:

  • Breathing therapy
If you experience shortness of breath, dizziness, tingling, palpitations, frequent sighing, or yawning, I will suggest working with the Buteyko method. Through breathing exercises, you can regain a calm and functional breathing pattern, gradually alleviating these symptoms.
  • Craniosacral therapy
The relaxing treatment I provide, based on the “10 steps” protocol, is designed to release tension in the body, calm the nervous system, and stimulate the body’s self-healing capacity.
